Baseball Tasmania News Red Sox Win Inaugural Grand Final

In a close, see-sawing battle, the Red Sox won their first ever Baseball Tasmania Grand Final with a 10-6 victory over the minor premier Whitesox, breaking their string of 3-straight premierships.

The game started tightly before the Whitesox scored three runs in the second innings to open the ledger, but a 3-run homer in the bottom of the third and a 2-run homer in the bottom of the fourth gave the Red Sox a 5-3 lead and the ascendency.

Mandatory pitcher changes saw the Whitesox complete another 3-run innings in the top of the 5th to take a 6-5 lead, but the Red Sox answered right back in the bottom of the 5th with four of their own to make it a 9-6 lead before a final run in the bottom of the 6th innings sealed the victory for the Red Sox and their first Premiership.

Congratulations to the Red Sox, who turned last season's wooden spoon in a premiership.

Thankyou to all the players for their time and efforts this season.
