Just passing on some information to everybody in general with regards to the upcoming season.

We have received news that the diamond is available for use during the summer, so the committee will be meeting Monday night (28/09/09) to draw up a schedule of use for the upcoming season.

More importantly for all the new people interested in playing baseball with us this year, we want to address the main questions which are how to get involved and how to join a team.  The answer is to pay attention to this site.  The first thing we will be organising at the committee meeting will be a player interest & training day.  Past and new players will be able to come along and register their interest for this season.  New players will then be assigned teams based on their relative skills and which teams could use them the most (ie. skill wise or if a team is lacking needed numbers).  The important thing to realise at the moment is that all teams in the league are currently run by Baseball Tasmania, so we do make some effort to even things out.  But nobody who wants to play baseball will be turned away.

Please note that at this time, the league is still relatively young and we are still in the process of consolidating the senior league.  This means that we currently do not run a junior competition, but we do plan to start one in the future and as such we have appointed a Junior Development Officer to help us reach this goal.

So, please keep watching this space.  News about the schedule will be released by Tuesday next week and we will also keep people abreast of any junior developments that occur.
